CHAMP’s goal is to improve the medical response to suspected child abuse by improving the examination, treatment, documentation, community referral, and management of suspected child abuse cases. As part of that effort, CHAMP developed this website as a companion to CHAMPprogram.com.

ChildAbuseMD.com is a resource for medical providers who do not have a background or expertise in child abuse pediatrics and are striving to develop best practice standards for their patient care setting. The website does not provide access to a child abuse expert for the purpose of case review or referral.

ChildAbuseMD.com was developed and written by experts and reviewed by New York State Child Abuse Pediatricians. The section Child Abuse Evaluation & Treatment for Medical Providers serves as a textbook, providing detailed information and resources on 15 topics. The feature Curbside Consults describes best-practice responses to cases of suspected child abuse.
