At this point, I'd like to share a case with you to highlight some of the concerns that you may be facing.
So this case is a three-month-old infant who was admitted to the hospital after presenting to the emergency department with a one day history of fussiness.
The initial exam is otherwise normal. And similar to what I said on the last slide on review of systems, the mom noticed a small bruise on the infant's cheek one week prior to admission.
The bruise was not present on physical exam. However, in the emergency department.
